The EIB,
the European Union’s Bank, is seeking to recruit for its Operations Directorate
- Operations Support Department (OSD) – Information Systems & Applications
Division (OSD-2),at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a: (Junior) Reporting
Officer – Information Systems & Applications. Appointment will be made on
the basis of a 4-year contract. Deadline for Applications: 09/08/2014.
Purpose
The
Information Systems & Applications Division within the front office lending
Directorate, produces numerous technical, complex Datawarehouse reports for all
staff of the Operations Directorate, with its biggest clients being the Central
Allocation Unit, the Business Development & Support Division, and Ops
Management for the reports regarding the Corporate Operational Plan.
The
(Junior) Reporting Officer will support the Information Systems &
Application Division by providing in-depth expertise in the Business Objects
tool from SAP and very strong technical Datawarehouse skills. In close
cooperation with Business Planning & Reporting Unit (being in charge of
defining the reporting strategy & requirements), s/he will, in addition to
the production of ad-hoc reports, participate in projects such as the version
upgrade of Business Objects and the migration of reports from BO DESKI
technology to WEBI technology.
Furthermore s/he will be in charge of the analysis of IT projects
impacting the Datawarehouse, including the required non-regression tests and
adaptation of impacted reports.
Operating
Network
The
(Junior) Reporting Officer reports to the Head of Division and works in close
co-operation within the Business Planning & Reporting Unit, as well as with
the Central Allocation Unit and the Business Development & Support Division
and other staff from Operations. S/he also cooperates closely with relevant
experts in the Information and Corporate Centre (ICC), as well as reporting
specialists in other Directorates.
Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain Business Objects reports for Operations following the reporting strategy defined by the Business Planning & Reporting Unit
- Develop and maintain complex MS Excel files, also including MATLAB developments as required by Operations
- Participate in reporting projects such as the migration of DESKI reports to WEBI reports, the Business Objects Upgrade and other technical projects
- Review the impact of IT projects on reports from Operations and realise the necessary non-regression testing
- Analyse, review and document existing reports and explain their functionality
- Create and test corrective maintenance tickets for the Datawarehouse
- Contribute to the inventory of the operational reports available through the EIB's Loans Front Office System (SERAPIS) and the Data Warehouse.
Qualifications
- University degree, ideally in IT, Engineering or similar, with a focus on Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems and Reporting
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in Management Information, Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing
- Proven tool expertise for Business Objects from SAP and Microsoft Excel
- Proven hands-on experience in Datawarehouse development including the usage of ETL tools
- Knowledge of a front office banking systems/applications for Loans would be an advantage
- Good understanding of the lending cycle and operational processes for loans would be preferred
- Good knowledge of standard office tools
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French and good command of the other (*)

(*) There
may be certain flexibility on this requirement, but limited to particularly
suitable candidates who may not yet be proficient in one of the two languages.
If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up
rapidly knowledge of the relevant language and accept that their future career
in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both
of the Bank's working languages.
