Job openings for IT specialists, European Patent Office

We are seeking enthusiastic IT specialists to join various directorates within the EPO, Europe's second largest international organisation. The deadline for applications to attend this event is 12 June 2014.

There are a number of steps involved in the process to participate in our recruitment event:

Step 1: Application
Fill out the online application form. Receipt of your application will be confirmed by email.
Step 2: Recruitment event
If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to The Hague to participate in our recruitment event, lasting 1 - 2 days. You will also be asked to complete an online personality questionnaire before attending the event.
The recruitment event will comprise one (or more) face-to-face interviews, which will evaluate your language skills and professional expertise. It is also an opportunity for candidates to find out more about the European Patent Office via presentations and meeting current EPO staff. In addition, candidates can discover what it is like to work in the IT department.

Who can apply?
IT specialists with sufficient language skills. Please see our required profile section on the appropriate vacancy notice for details.
Applications from candidates with excellent knowledge of one official language but able to understand only one of the other two may be considered, if they are willing to learn the third before starting work. In exceptional cases, the Office may alternatively consider offering a fixed-term contract for a maximum of three years instead of permanent employment. Candidates recruited on that basis may be appointed as permanent employees if, no later than four months before expiry of the contract, they can demonstrate that they have attained the level of knowledge of the third official language stipulated in the contract.
Remuneration and benefits
The EPO offers a competitive salary (4 200-8 000 EUR/month net, depending on experience). Staff members of the EPO are further provided with various benefits and allowances as part of the conditions of service, such as family allowances, support for education, private medical insurance, pension scheme, relocation benefits.
